Spanish Revival
San Francisco, California

With three school-aged children and extended family close by, the owners wished to create a home that became the social hub for friends and relatives. Set within a neighborhood dominated by traditional Spanish Revival homes from the 1920s, this house is a contemporary interpretation of that style, built for how people live today. Given its often foggy climate on the western side of San Francisco, attention was paid to illuminating interior spaces with as much natural light inside as possible, with rooms centered around a sky-lit stair hall.
